Birthday Bash Pen Swap

Birthday Bash Pen Swap

Postby Boomer » Sun Jun 13, 2010 8:24 pm

Ok folks here is the details for the next Pen Swap.
You will need to send your swap partner the following:

1. Pen kit of your choice
2. Bushings to fit the kit you sent
3. Drill bit to fit the kit you sent

Now when you get the stuff from your Pen Swap Partner you pick the wood, acrylic, antler what ever material that you want to put on the kit that you were sent and make a pen.
You send the finished pen back to your partner.

Your partner will do the same for you.

You keep the bushings and the drill bit so you can make that pen in the future for your self.

If you want to be part of this swap then please respond to this thread and I will draw partners. You have to respond by the 4th day of July 2010. I will then draw for partners and post them on the site. Any questions please pm me and I will try to answer your questions.

This should be a fun swap so if you are truely interested please respond to this thread.

Thank you

. . . . . . Hello? Hellooo? (tap-tap-tap) Is this thing on??!!!!

Uh-hum, I interrupt this post for an important announcement:

I know we all mean well and get excited when opportunities like this one come along. They are both exciting and a blessing to participate in. I also know that once we've committed ourselves Murphy's Law has a way at times of intervening and various life issues arise and the next thing you know the deadline has come and gone and our partner is still waiting on their pen. I have been on both sides of this, both waiting on a pen and having another wait on me (love ya Dave!!) With this being said, I do not in any way want to discourage anyone from participating but I do ask that perhaps a few reminder notes around the shop will help prevent any delays!!

I now return you to your swap participation fun!!!!

Excellent piont Mack!
Also keep in mind that unless you turn between centers you will need either an A Mandrel or a B Mandrel.

Great point Les.

Perhaps, since the majority of pens kits out there use the "A" mandrel, we need restrict the swap to kits using this size. For one who turns between centers this should be of no issue. I would think they would have a 60 degree counter sink which would make the stock bushings usable (well, at least most of them anyway!!)
